José Luis is the founder and president of Sngular (www.sngular.com), an international technology solutions provider with more than 1500 engineers in offices throughout Spain, United States, Mexico, Chile, Portugal and Uruguay. Serving as a technology partner for companies in the financial services, health, energy, retail, and telecommunications industries, Sngular is a reflection of Jose Luis’ conviction that in the ever-changing world of technology services, success is dependent upon the willingness to innovate and be nimble. Describing his vision for Sngular, Jose Luis says, “We’re not a company, we’re a tech talent ecosystem.”
Prior to founding Sngular, José Luis was one of two founders of BuyVIP, one of the first online retail clubs in Europe. In 2010, BuyVIP was sold to Amazon and José Luis became an investor and advisor in several European startups including LolaMarket, Belbex, Mercadeuda, Techon Rails, and My TripleA, among others. In addition, José Luis has invested in and advised a number of biotech startups including HealthyTech, NIMGenetics, MedimSight, and Enzymlogic. José Luis also serves as an outside director on the boards of several international companies and plays an active role as a technology innovator in Europe.
Born in 1968 in Villanueva de la Serena (Badajoz, Spain), José Luis has two bachelor’s and two master’s degrees in telecommunications (1992) and biomedical (2012) engineering from UPM (Polytechnic University of Madrid). He also has an executive MBA (2005) from IESE Business School (University of Navarra) and an executive degree from Singularity University (2015) in Silicon Valley, California. José Luis live in Madrid, Spain.
